Italy tops one million vaccinated people

More than one million people have been vaccinated in Italy as of Friday, becoming the first country to surpass million vaccinated individuals as administrated by the EU.

Although the country failed decimally to control the spread of the virus, health minister Giuseppe Conte believes the data of the number of people vaccinated is inspiring and the country should keep their guard high. According to the Local Italy of nearly 1.46 million of vaccine delivered in Italy, 66% has been used.


The distribution campaign which started in December prioritized health worker and front row workers, elders over 80 and other residents. On Friday, when Italy surpassed million people vaccinated, 477 people died of Covid-19.


As of right now, Italy has 2.34 million cases, 1.69 million recovery and 80848 deaths.
